Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

ex wife just notified me that she wants to be reimbused for charges that her medical insurance has paid for. I carry primary insurance on my son according to divorce decree. She is remarried and her husband who she also has a child with has our son on insurance as secondary. Example: son visited emergency room total bill was 1000.00 My insurance covered 800.00 or 80%. her insurance paid as secondary 200.00. She wants to be reimbursed 100.00, half the money her secondary insurance paid;

This doesnt make sense to me. We were divorced in texas I live in texas she now lives in washington state.

First, your current court order controls.

Second, it appears that she did not pay any money for the emergency room bill. ($800 plus $200 = $1,000).

In order to be reimbursed, she must have paid something and NOT received $$ from an insurance policy.

If the case is NOW in Washington State, you need to talk to a Washington attorney. I'm not licensed to practice there and I don't know their laws.

Good luck!
