Wife Pragnent

My wife is currently 8 1/2 weeks pragnent and we are having troubles in our relationship. She wants to move back to vermont and get a divorce. Can she do this?

and file for divorce also?

Yes, she can move out of state. That would put you at a disadvantage due to the distance involved if she files for divorce.

If her intention is indeed to move to Vermont and file for divorce there, one possible strategy for you is to file first in Texas. That keeps the proceedings on your turf.

You can also file a motion to have the court direct both parties go to marriage counseling for up to 60 days. That might be your best bet at saving the marriage.
