Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My wife and I are preparing papers to submit for an uncontested divorce.

We have one child and have agreed to custody that is equal time (50/50).

Is it acceptable to enter our custody and visitation arrangement in our own words for the Agreed Possession Order or do we have to edit the Standard Possession Order?

The Court will usually approve an Order that is agreed. Be warned, however, that your changes and your diy decree might not be enforceable. Lawyers have the education, experience and knowledge of the law that you might not have in this situation. You might save yourself a ton of money in the future, to spend a little bit today by hiring a lawyer to review the decree, before submitting it to the Court.
