Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
My wife works at a medical facility, she happened to see a patient who was a victim of domestic violence. My wife was ordered to appear as witness for the prosecution in said case, however the case was reset for a later date. My wife is under a medical treatment for personal reasons so she was not going to be able to appear at that particular date. My wife contacted the prosecuting attorney and informed her of this. The lawyer told her that the case would be reset for a later date. A couple of days later when my wife was told by of of her co workers at the clinic that the patient who was involved in the case had been by the clininc demanding to see her. My wife was also told that this patient told the coworker that because my wife was undergoing medical treatment her case had to be postponed and it was causing a lot of problems for her. Our only deduction from this is that the lawyer told this woman that the case had to be postponed because of my wife and also told this woman the reason why my wife could not appear in court. Can lawyers divulged information like this? My wife could be hurt by someone like this.
