Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
My Wife Of 5 Years Has Been To Rehab 3 times In The Last Year For Periods Of 15- 30 days each stay for alcahol abuse. when i deployed to afghanistan last year i left her and my 3 yo son with her mother, and her sister in order to ensure my son was taken care of. my wife was diagnosed her last stay at kingwood pines in tx with bipolar, and manic deppressant. she now tells me she is a lesbian, has an/more affair with some girl...continues it, stays gone from where my son is ( Her Mothers House) for weeks at a time. the only time she contacts me is on the 1st and 15th saying she needs money to take care of my son. she has an open case against her with cps in tx( she got drunk while on meds ordered chinese food, and answered the door naked for the delivery driver with my 3 yo son there alone with her) I Would Ideally Like To See Her Commited To A Mental Institution (Longterm) But Do Not Know How To Go About Starting This Process.

I wouldn't worry about having her comitted. I would file for divorce and seek sole managing conservatorship with supervised visitation for her. Let the final decree say that if she follows the treatment plan of her psychiatrist for 12 months, then she can seek modification.
