Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Me, my wife and 3 yr. old daughter live in Tx. my wife is fixing to leave Tx. with our daughter and go back to NC. I work out of town in the oilfield and am not home. Can she legally leave the state and take my daughter to another state for any length of time without my permission? What steps do i take to stop this before they leave in 3 or 4 days?

Unless there is a court order saying she can't, then the answer is yes, she can. Parents have equal rights regarding their children until those rights are changed by a court. If you want to prevent her and your child from leaving the state you should talk to an attorney in the county where your wife and child reside before they move. It's harder to get children back than to keep them from leaving.
