Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Will shows Ex-Husband as executor

The will of my mother says ''I appoint my husband, Larry Bright, as Independent Executor of this Will and of my estate. If my husband, Larry Bright, shall fail or cease to serve as Executor for any reason, then I appoint my sister, Nina Johnson, as Independent executrix of thist Will and of my estate''

My question is... If they are divorced would he still be the executor or would it fall on my aunt?

Re: Will shows Ex-Husband as executor

I believe so. Divorce will usually cut off the rights of the spouse to a will or even to be executor of the will. You may want to get a second opinion before you rely on my advice, however.
