can a typed will be as good as a will that is prepared by attorney or a prewritten one sold at office max?

If it's done correctly and according to the law - like the attorney prepared document. The Office Max document probably would not work. Then there is NO will. Suit yourself.

Based on what you have written; if a typed will is executed, signed, and formalized in accordance with Texas laws then generally the will may be accepted by the courts. A pre-written will from Office Max probably will not meet the requirements to be accepted by the courts. If you want a will to be done correctly, you need to seek the assistance of a law firm.
