Is a hand wrote, typed or computer generated will legal in the state of Texas?

This is NOT a family law question. It is for a probate or estate planning attorney.

If you are trying to save money, please don't be penny wise and dollar foolish!

I hired an attorney to write my will and my mother's will. I wanted to make sure that they were done exactly right.

Do NOT trust the kits they sell at office supply stores.

The probate laws of Texas are available on line. You can read them. You probably won't understand them.

I strongly urge you to retain legal counsel when doing your will. Probate in Texas is easy and cheap if done right. If done improperly or not at all, it's expensive and a real pain for your heirs.
