Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My six year old son's mother is trying to move from our area of Dallas, TX to the Boulder, CO area. We are joint managing conservators and I am awarded Thursdays and the first, third, and fifth weekends. My child has lived in the same town his entire life, as have I. How easy is it for her to be able to modify our order and expand the area where she can reside? I have no criminal background or anything negative on my record. Thanks.

She will have to convince a judge to modify the order, based on the best interest of the child.

You'll want to fight it. You might plead in the alterative that, if the judge DOES grant the modification (allowing her to relocate the child to another state) that he modify your child support downward, since it will be much more expensive for you to exercise visitation.

And ask for, say, 60 days' visitation during the summer, since the child will be so far away.
