Legal Question in Medical Leave in Texas
My dying Mother
I am serving in the U.S. Army, out of Ft. Hood, TX. I am currently deployed in Iraq. My Mother is currently a Family Hospice Patient. She's been diagnosed with a life expectancy of 6 months or less, do to heart problems. I am asking'' Do Service Members qualify for FMLA''? As of right now, the Military is not allowing me to go home from this deployment to help or even take care of my Mother in this hard time. I have the memo from her doctors stating her medical status. What else can I do to be with my mother while she's still alive.

Re: My dying Mother
You need to go to your commanding officer and request a hardship transfer to a command local near your mom. I have a former JAG officer in my offices who has provided me with this advice for you. His name is Jeffrey Brashear and he is with my Firm. You can email him directly at "[email protected]" or "[email protected]". If you have a problem, talk to Jeff. He should be able to assist you in getting home to your mom and THANK YOU for your Service to our country!
