Medical Leave of absence and being fired

Can my company let me go while I am under a doctors orders not to return to work for a very short time? And what can I do to get my job back?

You may be covered by the Famly & Medical Leave Act (FMLA) if 1) your employer has 50 employees at the location you worked;2)you have worked at least 12 months prior to the beginning of the leave time 3) and the medical leave is for a "serious health condition". A serious health condition is one which is under continual treatment by a doctor, or requires a stay in the hospital , or at least 3 days out patient treatment. These are all general rules and w/o more information I cannot address your specific issue any further.
