Is the family leave act good for every year? Do you get 12 weeks per year?

Yes, you can obtain this benefit each calendar year if you othewise qualify by terms of service, size of company, etc. Remember, most such leave will be uncompensated and you need not take it all at once, but must take it for the purposes specified.
