Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

15 months ago this man I dated lived with me three months.. the agreement was half of the household expenses and mortgage.. He never gave me any money for that and basically lived off of me.. he was going through the stages of filing for divorce. January of last year, new years eve he physically attached me for which he was arrested for and I kicked him out. the last month he was staying with me he didnt have the money to pay for his phone bill and he told me if I would use my debit card to pay it he would pay me back.. well after he was arrested and moved out.. he continued to have sprint debit my account and I did not catch it for three months.. once I did I had to have sprint remove it by filing a case # to have them do that. when I confronted him he told me he thought I gave him permission and he still had a few items in my home that I asked him over and over to remove.. since he wasnt going to pay me back and in order to prevent me from filing charges against him he told me to keep the property for that money. we ended up later dating again but not a good idea.. he was very emotionally and verbally abusive.. it has been a year and I had stopped seeing him.. now he wants me to take $400 and return the property.. I told him the property has been in my home and mine for 12 months and I have no intensions of taking money from him. this stuff is not for sale.. now he is threatening me saying he talked to an attorney and judge, which he impersonated a judge in a text message he sent me. saying he can claim common law and that he is going to sue me and make me pay for an attorney. will you advise me where I can find the laws of Texas on this information? He is harassing me and this is something he has done for a year off and on. my fault for dating him off and on after he physically attacked me.. live and learn right can I get an idea of the legal ramification of this horrible mess for me? Im a single mom and him not paying for anything the three months he did live with me almost cost me my house and car. if he tries to take me to court can he claim common law? And if he takes me to court can I get compensated for the rents and utilities he agreed to pay but did not? Do I have to sell him his property back?

This man is a liar and a bully. STOP TALKING TO HIM. Don't answer his emails. If he calls you, HANG UP IMMEDIATELY.

He is not going to sue you. He is a liar.

If he was married during the time that he lived with you, he can't "claim common law."

Really .... STOP TALKING TO THIS MAN. If he writes a letter to you, don't answer it. If he sends you an email, don't respond.
