Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

Abusive Dog Catcher

My dog was injured severly by the dog catcher. Her hip was dislocated by the dog catcher snaring her hind leg and pulling it out of socket. This dog is blind. They told me that they could not catch her and I found her in my neighborhood injured. It seems that they realized she was hurt and let her go. I am having to pay for surgery to have the hip fixed. Do I have any legal right to file a claim against the city Animal Control?

Re: Abusive Dog Catcher

You have a right to make a claim against anyone who causes you damages [monetary loss] to your property by their negligence. You must, of course, have courtroom-quality proof, not just conjecture or hearsay.

There are technical requirements for making such a claim against a governmental agency. Check with your city Clerk or Manager to find out how to proceed.

good luck.
