Applicability of TX divorce laws for H1-B worker

I am working in TX on H1-B visa. We have been seperated for 2.5 yrs. Prior seperation we filed taxes jointly. Also, I first came to US as a dependent on H4 visa.

I am unaware of my husband's current whereabouts. I only know his permanant mailing address in India (which appears on our wedding cerificate issued by the court in India)

Will the TX divorce laws be applicable in my case ? We have a 30 month old daughter who is a US citizen and she lives with me.

There is no dispute over property or custody of the child. In such a case can I process the paper-work without appointing a lawyer ? Please advise.

You need to speak first with an Immigration Law lawyer, and then with a Family Law lawyer.
