Auto Accident Claims

How long after an automobile accident in Texas does one have to sue the driver(or driver's insurance company) at fault? What are the exceptions to this time limit? I was in an accident in August 1999 and am just now being served with a lawsuit (filed June 2002).

A lawsuit has to be filed within two years of the date of the accident. However, there are some exceptions that may stretch out the time.

Contact the insurance company that gave you coverage on the date of the accident in 1999.
