Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

Looks like a back filed a lawsuit against me in civil Court. I haven't been served the Court papers. My question is, what happens if I'm never served. Can I be arrested? Can they take my wages? What if they go after my bank accounts and they don't get any money? (I'm broke)

Generally they have to show they served you or you evaded service before you get a default judgement against you for not answering. If a judgement is awarded then they can do all the things you mentioned. Arrest is generally that last and the most extreme thing and it only happens specific situations. Its better to confer with an attorney to see if you can negotiate the debt payment or if they can even bring the suit against you than to hope they don't get a default judgement. You never want to wake up and learn your wages or bank account have been garnished.
