Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

Banished from a Tavern, due to slanderous statements

I live in a resort area, and have been a frequent customer of a waterfront bar and resturant. After dating another ''regular'' and ending the relationship, I have all of the sudden been banished from visiting this place. Never a police report, I'm blamed for everything that goes wrong, some kind of revenge agenda between her and the owner. More information, do I have a case?

The owner has a right to refuse service to anyone for any reason. Maybe you could go "regular" hunting elsewhere in more broad minded territory.

You may have a civil rights case if you are being discriminated against on the basis of race, religion, national origin, sex, and in some cases age if over 40. Otherwise, you probably totally out of luck.

Other actions might exist in some states other than Texas or some cities in Texas which have adopted legislation or ordinances prohibiting discrimination regarding gays, or for other local reasons. These jurisdictions are rare.

Perhaps, you might have a defamation action if someone is putting out false information about you, but you are likely to have a difficult time in proving damages.
