Barking Dogs

What legal action can I take against a nieghbor who has two large barking dogs that keep us up at night. I have discussed this problem and written a letter to them. I have called police numerous times but to no avail.

Two things: I don't know where you live, but check the city ordinances for barking dogs and/or nuisances. You might call the code enforcement department of your city for this. Sometimes they will help. If that doesn't work, you could file a temporary restraining order seeking a permanent injunction. This is a little more difficult and you would probably need a lawyer.
