Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas
I bought furniture for a friend of mine when I lived in NY, she promised the ol pay you when I get my taxes back deal. Obviously she didn't pay me. I now live in El Paso Texas. I ended up paying off the furniture with a hit to my credit. I texted her, called and left voice messeges all with replies of Yes Jolie I PROMISE I will pay you. Recently she said I am sending you 2- 800,00 money orders.. again a lie. When I said that I havent received them she said OH I dont know what happened and it was only 200 that I sent. What do I do I have the texts saying she owes me and that she is going to pay me back what should I do?

You could sue her but it would be in the state where the agreement took place.
