Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

Breaking an apartment lease

What happens if I break my apartment lease? If they charge me the reletting fee, I understand that, but if they release the apartment before my actual lease would be up do I still have to pay the reletting fee? I appreciate your help.

Re: Breaking an apartment lease

Based on what you have written, it appears that your apartment lease terms will govern any actions required by the landlord. You should review the terms of your lease and look for termination verbage/paragraph to see what the landlord's rememdies are when the tenant breaks the lease. As for a reletting fee, generally, some lease agreements require a reletting fee as a provision for being released from the agreement.
