Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

Buying car from private seller...

I have a verbal agreement with someone to buy vehicle with agreement that new bumper included in the price. I have been paying the person monthly in cash. I have 500.00 remaining to pay before balance paid in full. The seller still has not provided the bumper and is now saying that he cant provide bumper. No liens on title. I have vehicle. Refuse to pay b4 receiving bumper. Seller is talking about having vehicle repossessed or towed from my home. Can they do that legally?

Stop paying and the car will be repo'd.

Since you have no written contract, you can't prove that the Seller was to include a new bumper. Seller could contend that there was no sales contract and you were leasing the car.

Suggest you pay the seller off, get the car title before you try to do something about the bumper and risk losing the car altogether.
