Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas
car loan
I purchased a car with my mom and about 6 months before the car was paid off, we started getting phone calls saying that our 5 year lease was almost up and we needed to return the car or refinance. We did not lease a car for 5 years, so we asked for a copy of the contract because when we bought the car, we were told that the loan office was closed and was given a monthly payment and total cost including finaning @ 7% of $26K+. When they sent the contract, it had our signatures on it but it was totally different from what we signed. We bought a Mit. Galant ES for $18K+, but the contract they sent said the car was $33K+. I paid 60 months of $447.75 but did not pay the extra $7k they are asking for. What can I do to keep my car and not have to pay the extra cost?

Re: car loan
It sounds like you leased, not purchased a car. It pays to get a copy of such agreements. If you don't have any proof to the contrary, I don't see how one could help yu.
