Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

My car was taken away by parents after paying $5,000 out of my own money.

My father got me a car under his name for which i paid for for two years with my personal checks. I paid about $5,000 dollars with my personal checks which i still have as proof. I missed one payment and my parents took my car away and gave it to someone else to pay for it. I just recently found out my parents received money for the car, but I myself did not get any money at all for the vehicle. Can i still sue in a small claims court for the $5,000 i paid for eventhough the car was under my dad's name?

You can, so long as you're over 18 years of age, and don't ask for more than the $5,000.00.
