Defamation of Character

I have a sister that has a deep seated hatred for me and her son recently saved his money he made cutting hay in the Hot East Texas sun this summer to hire an attorney of his own so he could move here and live with his dad. I had nothing to do with it. My sister lives about 3 hours from us, but she continually calls my ex brother in law (with whom I've always gotten along with, we try rally together for the boy who is 15 years old) and lies about things I have said or done (I do not speak to her). She is begining to go too far and I've had just about enough. I want her to stop her threats and lies. I do not want to take any legal action against her because of the boy, but she is leaving me no choice. I live in a small community where she is going out of her way to ruin my reputation, I have worked very hard for.

You will have to speak with a local lawyer about the problem. The courts will not put a muzzle on her about future speech, but they can punish her for any slanderous comments she may have made.
