default judment

If I get sued in another state ,lets says Virgina, and a default judment is intered against me.Now if the pervailing party cones to texas to collect on the judment , what can I do to stop collection

Pobably very little. You'd need a collateral attack on the judgment itself to show that it was improper. That's a very hard burden to carry.

Fundamentally, you would have to show that the judgment was illegal in the sister state. Heavy burden. Who is doing this to you?

You are fighting an uphill battle if you allowed a default judgment in another state and they are seeking to enforce it in TX. You can consult with an attorney; it wouldn't take long to determine your options.
