Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

In need of direction

I was injured during work. I have a lower back injury. I had to take my own vacation/sick time etc. I then ran out and they are deducting my pay when I have to take off for physical therapy or doctors appts. My work was slow in filing workman's comp, it got declined, but is now going to go through but in 6-8 months. My boss is calling my doctor and made me sign a release to find out about my condition. Now, my condition is worsening because I have had to come to work and my doctor called my boss and told him that what he was making me do was not making me better. Now my boss told me that I have to stay home and can't come to work until I am 100%. I can't even remain on light duty, which is my current status. I have to stay home without pay. What type of attorney do I need? I don't know what field I would look into for representation. Please let me know where to turn because I am hitting brick walls.

Re: In need of direction

This is the state of our Workers Compensation system. It is a systematic, punishment and humiliation of our workers. I recommend that you look in your area for a workers compensation attorney. There aren't many because our enlightened legislature voted away the right to counsel and makes it very difficult for an attorney to get paid.
