What are three privileges one can claim when refusing to answer a discovery request?

It depends on the question and the jurisdiction and waiver and many other things. Offhand, immediately coming to mind would be the 5th amendment (self-incrimination), the attorney-client and the husband-wife. Take a look at your local rules of evidence.
