Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

EX-WIFE Frivalous lawsuit

What kind of lawyer would take her case???. Two years ago I divorced my wife. The divorce stated she was to be out of the house and keys turned over. She did after screaming and left the house but came back (empty house, everything out!!). She pushed my sister to enter the house and scarred her face w/a keychain. My mom and I were there and tried to break up the fight. We called the cops, she went to jail and now she is suing us saying she has anxiety, disfigurement, disability and a ton of other stuff. She did this three days before statue of limitations. She describes us beating her, punching her, kicking, etc (gangbeating), but still the cops called the EMT for my sis and not her. She describes this BRUTAL attack and is now suing us for it. She wants up to $750,000.00 and says she has nightmares etc. I am a Marine and not a small guy. If my mom and I beat her like that, we would have gone to jail and her to the hospital. She wrote me seven months after the incident wanting to be friends and giving me her #. Sounds real odd doesn't it. She even wanted to meet to give me some of my stuff. Why would a lawyer take her case, Can a lawyer get in trouble for filing a frivalous lawsuit and have to pay our legal expenses?

Re: EX-WIFE Frivalous lawsuit

It's obviously a lawyer who did not investigate the circumstances which is the basis for pursuing him/her for a frivolous lawsuit. Probalby cost you $8K-$15K minimum. If what you say is true, go for it. Good Luck.
