Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

Failing to Complete an Agreement

I made a verbal agreement to an acquaintance of mine for some Tupperware that I had for some furniture that she had. She lived in another state so the agreement was that she took the Tupperware first and she would send the furniture to me within two months. The two months came and gone and she wasn't sure when the furniture would be sent so we agreed that she would send cash payments of $100 monthly for 6 months, now that has not been carried through. I have tried to contact her and not getting any answers. Do I have any rights? This is very important to me.

Re: Failing to Complete an Agreement

You have a contract that's enforceable, since you carried out your part of the agreement. If the deal was struck in Texas, you might be able to sue her here. Even though the debt may be small enough for Small Claims, you want to engage an attorney because the interstate matters make the lawsuit, and collection upon the judgment, far more complicated.
