Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

False sexual harrassment accusations

My husband works in a fast food restaurant as a shift manager. He has been falsly accused of sexual harrassment by a co worker who is upset because he will not let her eat free off of the clock. She has already quit because she does not want to work there. She has used friends that work there as witnesses. She has done this before at a prior job. She has been the one to make inappropriate comments to my husband and others. My husband has been fired and the the store manager has even went to the length to say at a store meeting that he thought my husband was guilty. My husband has been set up by a few females that are angry because he follows the rules and I feel he has been slandered by his former manager.

Is there anything we can do? We really can't afford an attorney and I know my husband is innocent.

Re: False sexual harrassment accusations

Your husband could sue the women that made the false complaints, but I'd expect there's nothing to collect against. The business isn't culpable, so there's no 'deep pockets' to bring in.

If your husband could prove that the trouble-maker had done something similar before, he could present that as proof that she was not truthful as far as your husband is concerned. That may convince his ex-employer that they made a mistake in firing him.
