Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas
Federal Procedure
What are the duties and customs related to an expert witness, not yet disclosed to the hiring & other party? Other side knows I was in case and I withdrew for major issues related to fees and client withholding vital evidence. Can other side compel me in any way?
Can other side hire me? This is in Federal Court.

Re: Federal Procedure
The better question is what are your options.
The other side in the suit can't hire you. The assumption is that you would have been privy to confidential information and it would be improper for them to suggest retaining you.
As to whether or not you can be deposed by the other side, leave that to the judge. If the situation arises, consult a lawyer of your own. I expect that he or she will advise you to give testimony only within the bounds of the protective order that the opposing side is sure to request.
Next time, remember to get enough money up front to cover your commitment to the case. That way, even if you have to withdraw, you will be compensated for your time.
