Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

Fraud

I recently filled a complanint with Harris County D.A. office and the compliant was given an file number. I had a meeting in Januaray with the DA and the investagator covering the complanint. The amount of fraud is around $11,000.00. How long does the process take? Is there a time limit on filling a law suit against this company? How long does in normal take to get bank records (the DA hasask for from this company)?. We have retained an attorney but he has said since its an Inc. it may take much longer is this true?

Re: Fraud

It's hard to say just how long it will take the DA to build a case and take it to trial. Fraud has a four-year statute of limitations.

Getting bank record is a function of the nature of the lawsuit or legal action, and the method used to request them. It could be anywhere from less than 30 days to a few months.

Your attorney is giving you good advice.
