Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

a friend of mine lost a pair of diamond earrings in my apt and is wanting to take it to civil court in order to have me replace them. Can they do that?

From what you have said, it sounds like may have a good comparative negligence defense if she does sue you. However this depends upon the facts. Suggest you review your renter's insurance policy and consult an attorney.
