Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

furnishing alcohol to a minor

If i am floating on a river and one girl gets pulled out of the water and gets issued a minor in possesion am i responsible for her and should i be charged with furnishing alcohol to a minor if i did not give her the beer. The ice chest is rented out to my roomates and my license but one other girl who had drank before the river blew positive and she got let go. My roomate and i got handcuffed, taken to jail where we spent ten hours and then spent three hundred and fifty dollars to get bailed out. we have no discharge or release forms from jail, no citation, and no rights were read to us. the cops had us in handcuffs and asked us questions but took us straight to jail. the girl who was issued a m.i.p. even stated that the beer was not given to her buy us. we had just met that girl that day. is something wrong here? please help me.

Re: furnishing alcohol to a minor

If you were released without going before a judge, then chances are the police realize they didn't follow procedure and it is over. If it isn't over, then get an attorney and don't play around with criminal charges.
