Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

My ex girlfriend moved out of state, she took my personal property with her. I have offered to her to send a prepaid postage box with label for her to send my family pictures back to Texas. She sent me a message stating that she will not return my pictures until I pay her $215.00 for a traffic ticket she recieved while driving my car? She believes I should pay for her ticket because she was being the designated driver. Is this legal? Can she hold my pictures for ransom?

The traffic ticket generally is something that is her responsibility as she was the driver. This is not taking into consideration her guilt or innocence. Nor does it taking into consideration any agreements you may have entered into regarding the same. However, it sounds like she is holding them until you pay the money she feels you agreed to pay somehow. Can you negotiate with her so you may obtain the photos? Bear in mind that involving an attorney could be more that $215 unless someone would help for free.
