Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

Guardianship of Adult MI Child Free Help

My 24 yr old Mentally Ill, Chemically Dependent, Physically Disabled Daughter requires Guardianship. Our income is slightly above limits for Local Legal Aid Assistance. How can I obtain free or nearly free help with this. I am trying to save her life and I can find no help anywhere that I can afford. I can fill out forms and can do the work needed BUT I am not willing to pay an Web Site for what may be totally bogus. Can I locate a local lawyer willing to give consideration as to fees given the situation. She will be DEAD soon if some action isn't taken. The State Adult Protection Service Worker recommends that I take this action but the State itself won't persue guardianship. She's made two suicide attempts in the last 4 months and both required ICU treatment. She's been through hell and she deserves someone to help us help her.

Check with your local county bar associations. Many attorneys are willing to work on a payment plan or reduced fee basis.
