Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

Can I hire an attorney to represent me in a civil suite?

I purchased a dog from a breeder for a few thousands dollars. He was suppose to be a pure bred dog, instead I found out he was a mix and the breeder then admitted it to me and said she would replace the dog or give me my money back. It has since been 4 months and she refuses to talk with me. I want to file a civil lawsuit against her but she lives a few states away. Is there a way for me to hire an attorney in her city to file suite on my behalf and then to go to court for me? Maybe give them power of attorney of the situation so they can represent me?

Your question has to do with jurisdiction and venue. You want to file the lawsuit in your own back yard; you don't want to have to file it in her (Defendant's) state.

You need to talk to a good civil lawyer about this. It's important that you file in the right place.

That being said, she can NEVER complain about being sued in HER back yard. If you do that, you will eventually have to do some traveling.
