Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas
Job dismissal because of suboenas
I have a counselor friend that works for a children's home. In the course of one case she has had to go to court several times, and has been subpoened to appear in court at others. She has been informed by her employer that should she be subpoened again she will be dismissed. Do they have the legal right to dismiss her when she has no recourse but to go to court when summoned?

Re: Job dismissal because of suboenas
They can if she is being paid to testify as an expert and that takes her away from a job where she is needed full time.
