Re: Judgement and order to compel
Your facts are confusing, and I am unable to follow what has happened. It appears that you consulted an attorney before you were sued. Although he informed you that you were okay, I am confident that he did not advise you to ignore a lawsuit if you were sued. In all liklihood the default judgment bars you from raising issues about the fraud.
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO - NOW: Go back to the lawyer, and find out if it is too late to do anything about the default judgment. At this stage is not an easy task for a non-lawyer to get a judgment set aside. Othewise, you may be required to give a deposition and/or answer interrogatories to determine if you have assets with which to pay the judgment.
