Are lawyers typically used in a small claims court. And what is the typical procedures for small calims court from beginning to end.

I think you can use an attorney in all TX counties. But in other states you sometimes can not. Google your county and "small claims" and you should find onine information. Dallas' site is very well developed for example.

You can use a lawyer, but most Small Claims actions are pro se. Go to your nearest JP and ask the civil clerk for a brochure on Small Claims. That will tell you what you need to know.
