Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

Who is liable for damage to a vehicle when a person's body hits it?

My son (17 yrs old) and a group of boys were at a party at a friends house. The boys were playing around and the boy who lives at the house pushed my son and he fell into another friends car denting the fender. I was not with him when it happened. The boy with the dented fender took a hammer to the dent to knock it out, but there is still a dent. The father of the son with the damage wants me to pay to fix the car. I have tried to resolve it with him, but he is not happy with any type of resolution I have. He has called by boss to try and get me in trouble and is threatening to take this to small claims court. Who is liable for the damage (me, the homeowner where it happened or both)?

Actually, the fault, legally, would lie with the boy who pushed your son.
