Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

Mechanics lien

I placed an ad in the classified paper to sale a refrig. A ladie called and we talked, turned out that she had a rent house that needed alot of repairs which is what i do. I met her about6 times, she led me to believe that i would going to be the one contracted for the jobs. We decided to deal with the appliances first. Instead of it being one job we were treating it like several jobs 1. painting 2 appliances 3 texture and so on. I sold her a refrig and dishwasher delivered/installed for 225.00. She specified she wanted something cheap but good and black no brand specified/style. The refrig i had wasn't black so i purchaased black professional appliance paint. after they were installed and my old lady had cleaned the house and the backyard which was to be another job she said she wasn't going to pay. I tried reaching her for quite a while never could. Then I left a collections invoice on the door. finally her son in law called and said the appliances would be outside. Well you see when we meet the ladie had been having the son and father in law do the work but said they where to slow thats why she had asked me to bid the jobs. what can i do? if i pick the appliances up can i charge for services. they were sold as is .

Re: Mechanics lien

Write to her, certified mail, demanding payment for the appliances you sold to her. If she fails to pay you within 10 days, you can sue her in Small Claims for the money.
