Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

money not repaid

I loaned money to a company that i was an indepentant contractor for in aug, 2006. The money was for repair on there vechile and was never repaid for. The only proof i have is my checking account statement showing the withdraw from the dealership. Can you help,is this something i should need a lawyer for?

If it's under $5,000.00 you can go to Small Claims and sue to collect. One definite advantage to Small Claims is that the Rules of Evidence are not followed.

If you are not being paid and you want to collect your money, a lawyer could help. If you know how to do all the steps and collect a judgment, then you don't need a lawyer; but many lawyers do not know how to collect a judgment - and some don't know how to get one.
