Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas
motion for continuance
in travis county texas. i have a civil case to be heard in august of this year. am i able to ask for a motion for continuance and how do i do it? the grounds are a) i am having major problems with my attorney - so much so that i am looking for a new one and b) i am a single mother with a new job that is very strict on leave during the summer (we are a resort in mass and this is our season) and i can't risk losin gmy job and benefits that provide fo rmy child. i also now live in TX & travelling with an infant would be extremely difficult if i were able to get one day out of work. if i can submit a motion for continuane what do i need to do? thank you

Re: motion for continuance
Either get your attorney to make the motion or get a new attorney and have them make the motion; they would almost certainly have it granted. You don't get to act as your own attorney when you have an attorney already unless you have fired them.
