Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

Motorcycle Contract

I signed a contract for motorcycle and was told they would hold it after our new home mortgage closed. I estimated the time to be a week- two weeks time. After reviewing the contract I to change the way the contract was structured and told the salesman that I wanted to change the contract by appling more of a down payment instead of rolling in the down payment cost.

He called 2 weeks later to ask when I wanted to pick up motorcycle.

What recourse do I have at this point. The finance company added the down on top of the price for the bike and the dealer said I would have to pay that amount to resale it back to him.

Re: Motorcycle Contract

If you haven't signed a contract to purchase, then you aren't obligated to purchase. If you have, then we'd need to read that contract to advise you.

Re: Motorcycle Contract

You will be bound by the contract you signed. Read it carefully, but you are likely obligated to complete the purchase. Any oral agreements after the contract was signed are unlikely to be of any effect. Always read contracts and make any changes before you sign them.
