Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

Neighbors barking dogs, Nuisance?

Reside in residential area, Texas town of 30,000. Own home and work at night. My next door neighbor has 4 large dogs that run free in a fenced in yard. He is gone most of the the time. Dogs are loose in the yard and bark almost continously. Working at night, I have to sleep during the day. What are my legal options, if any?

Thanking you,

Re: Neighbors barking dogs, Nuisance?

Not much. Legally you could make a complaint about the barking dogs being a nuisance, but in a town of 30,000 that really won't fly. Plus you'll really irritate your neighbor.

Have you spoken to your neighbor and explained why his dogs' barking is detrimental to you? Most times neighbors are friendly and accommodating if approached in a non-hostile way.
