Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

My neighbors dog and its abuse.

We live in a sub-division. I have a wood fence. The gentleman behind me has three dogs. They have litrealy knocked out many of the boards (or broken them in half) of the back and sides of my fence. They get in my yard and tear it up (besides the horrible damage on the fence). I have three small children. I have a private back yard and my children can't even go play on the swing because we are constantly fighting off dogs that are not ours. What exactly can I do leagally? While they are on my property, and/or if I can't get a catcher their when they are on my property. I live in Harris County.

Re: My neighbors dog and its abuse.

Send your neighbor a certified letter advising him that his dogs are endangering your small children and that you will impound them if it happens again.

Get a snare or some device which will allow you to catch the dogs.

Get a chain link fence installed.

Sue him in small claims court for the damages to your property.
