Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas
My nephew is living totaly on his own and supporting himself. He turned 18 in June and decided to go to high school to see if he could manage work/school etc. He quit going to school and now is having to go to court for truancy which they say he can have a court ordered GED program and will be jailed if he misses any school. Can they do this to someone who is 18 1/2?
Also, he tried to withdraw from school but the school would not let him.

I don't think he can be convicted of truancy because he is over the age of 18.
This is not my area of specialty so you should not rely on my advice, you should consult with an attorney for a more in-depth analysis of your situation.
Good Luck!
